Be Active in Your Writing
Be active in your writing. Being active with your writing does not mean you should jiggle about a bit while typing. It also does not mean you should write while out walking your dog.
Rather, it refers to your use of voice. The active voice is more direct and vigorous (to quote Strunk and White) than the passive. Active writing is also more concise. Concise writing is a skill you should learn. Concise writing enables you to cram more detail and flavour onto a page.
Passive writing is less evocative, takes longer to read and provides less value to the reader.
