Citadel on the Wilderlands: Week Five
This week has passed in a bit of a blur, if I’m honest. Many things are going on outside the design of Citadel on the Wilderlands. My focus has been a bit all over the place, both on other work projects and a range of personal issues.
As a symptom of this, instead of focusing on one area—say, the Swerkwood—I’ve been nibbling around the edges of various locales. I’ve mainly worked on Nemeton and designed a couple of NPC bios. I’m nowhere near the point of doing stat blocks yet, but getting a good feel for the major (or interesting) folk in the village is an important step in developing the feel of the place. NPCs are the things the characters will likely most remember interacting with in the village and are also—crudely put—plot givers and so on. Thus, they are as important as the physical locale.
