Creativity at 3 MPH
The Guardian has published a tremendously interesting article about productivity, creativity and exercise. If you are a writer, publisher or artist, it is well worth reading.
If the article interests you, I highly recommend The Extended Mind by Annie Murphy Paul. I’ve blogged about this book before:
The book and the article explore how we can work better when we move more. I’ve been a keen runner and dog walker for well over a decade, and I’ve now added rucking to my exercise arsenal. I’ve lost count of the creative breakthroughs I’ve had while out in nature away from my shiny devices.
So, if you are struggling with a design problem, get outside and move. You won’t regret it. (And then try to claim your exercise gear as tax-deductible business expenses.)
