Inspirational Exploring

I’m not a big fan of holidays, but my eldest son loves wandering around with little more than a backpack and the address of the nearest bar. Long-time readers may remember he “did” Europe a couple of years ago. This year, he is wandering around New Zealand.

Before he left, he promised to send me pictures of inspirational adventure locations and blimey did he recently deliver!

While exploring a river valley, he discovered an old open mine. Obviously, he explored and discovered you could walk right through the mountain! Here are a couple of photos from the day. You could easily turn these into the start of a classic fantasy adventure.

What lurks in the valley? Who cut the path to the mine, and what now lurks within its dark recesses? That’s the stuff adventure is made of!
